Brother Can You Spare A Dime

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

“Brother Can You Spare a Dime” is one those great songs that I always felt like spoke to my own personal story.  I recorded it over a year ago. I never thought it would be relevant to the times that we live in. For you out there listening, I would like to say that “Brother Can You Spare A Dime,” is just one of ten great classic songs that we recorded for this CD, which I feel is really more about the longing for love and justice and the triumph of hope.

The folks at Blue Planet Records have pressed up thousands of the single “Brother Can You Spare A Dime” and I understand that they are in transit to radio stations around the world as I write this.

Going back to the subject of hope, we all see that these are troubled times that are testing all of us. I am just a singer and a songwriter that really doesn’t know much about anything, who is still recovering from so many mistakes. Please forgive me if I offend anyone, but I do owe those who showed me, that where there is hope there are answers to be found, hold on to it and share it with others but don’t let anyone take it from you.

It’s in that spirit I encourage all of us looking for hope, to give it. May I encourage you to support Covenant House and other fine charities because no one should be homeless, especially a child.
